About Us
History
The Dante Italo Canadian Club
was formed by a group of new Italian immigrants on
April 10, 1958, in the City of Sarnia.

- The goal of the club is to:
- Provide a meeting place for all
Italians from different regions of Italy who have made a new
home and life in the Sarnia-Lambton area.
- Exchange ideas on cultural and
recreational matters.
- Develop a plan to ensure that the
Club would grow into a social, cultural and recreational
facility for all its members and future generations.
- Set examples for their
children to follow and help maintain the culture of their forefathers
in order to
pass it on to future generations.
- On April 10, 1961 the Dante Club was incorporated.
- In 1961 the Dante Club purchased a parcel of land on
London Road. This land became the new home of the club.
- In 1962 an adjacent piece of land
was purchased to
provide more space so that construction on a new building
could begin.
- In March of 1967 construction of the new building began.
- On January 13 and 14, 1968, the Dante Club hosted an open
house to the general public.
- January 20th, 1968, a gala was held to celebrate the grand
opening.
Community Involvement
We frequently hold pasta fundraiser dinners at our facility
for many charitable organizations and help raise funds for
various relief efforts.
